2 Xeon Processor Servers
Several servers based on the Xeon processor are supported in HP Cluster Platform solutions.
This chapter presents overviews of the following servers:
• HP ProLiant DL140 G2 (Section 2.1).
• HP ProLiant DL140 G3 (Section 2.2 ).
• HP ProLiant DL160 G5 and G5p(Section 2.3)
• HP ProLiant DL360 G3, G4, and G4p (Section 2.4).
• HP ProLiant DL360 G5 (Section 2.5).
• HP ProLiant DL380 G3 and G4 (Section 2.6)
• HP ProLiant DL380 G5 (Section 2.7).
2.1 HP ProLiant DL140 G2
The HP ProLiant DL140 G2 server is a 1U, dual-processor capable server supporting Intel Xeon
processors to 3.6 GHz/800 MHz with 2MB L2 cache. It provides 8 DIMM slots, enabling a
maximum 16GB of PC2-3200 DDR memory. A standard full-height/full-length PCI express slot
and an additional low-profile, half-length PCI slot are provided for adapters. The DL140 G2
supports non hot-pluggable serial ATA (SATA) and SCSI hard disk drives.
Table 2-1 lists the features of the HP ProLiant DL140 G2.

G2, which has the same physical features as the AMD Opteron-based ProLiant DL145 G2.
