2.2.1 HP ProLiant DL140 G3 PCI Slot Assignments

The ProLiant DL140 G3 has two PCI Express slots (optional PCI-X) on the rear of the chassis. All

slots can accept universal keyed PCI cards. Table 2-9, Table 2-10, and Table 2-11 summarize the

PCI slot assignments.

Table 2-9 summarizes the PCI Express slot assignments for the DL140 G3.

2.2.2 HP ProLiant DL140 G3 Memory Configurations

The HP ProLiant DL140 G3 has eight DIMM slots that support up to 16 GB maximum system

memory (2 GB in each of the eight DIMM slots). Observe the following rules when installing

memory modules:

• Use only HP supported PC2-5300 fully buffered DIMMs (DDR2–667) with advanced ECC

capability in 512 MB, 1 GB, or 2 GB capacities.

• Install memory modules in pairs of the same size.

• Install memory modules in progressively larger capacity, following the slot sequence listed

in Table 2-12.
