Table 1-7 lists the physical characteristics of the HP 10000 Series 42U Rack that are relevant to
site preparation. Shorter models, such as the 22U cabinet, have the same footprint at significantly
less maximum weight. For cluster configurations using the 288–port Voltaire InfiniBand
interconnect, an HP 10000 Series 42U, 800mm wide cabinet is required. The added width allows
approximately eight (8.0) inches of room outside of the internal mounting rails for routing the
288–port InfiniBand interconnect cables. The 800mm wide cabinet mounts flush with the standard
42U racks, so there is no need to off-set this particular model.
