What is it? Rotate Offset is a feature that allows users to print multiple copies of a job in alternate orientations. This new feature can be used with either the Print or Copy path. For example, the first copy outputs in landscape orientation, the second outputs in portrait orientation, the third in landscape, and so on. Once Rotate Offset is enabled, regardless of inactivity period, the first copy of a job outputs in the alternate orientation to the last copy of the previous job.

To enable Rotate Offset Rotate Offset can be enabled through Web Jetadmin, the Embedded Web Server, or through the MFP control panel. To enable Rotate Offset through the control panel, 1. Touch Administration. 2. Touch Device Behavior. 3. Touch Rotate Offset. 4. Touch Enable. When Rotate Offset is enabled, all compatible print and copy jobs are output in Rotate Offset format.

Condition Paper trays do not contain Letter/A4 or LetterR/A4-R paper. Description/Remedy Description: Rotate Offset is only compatible with Letter/A4-sized media. At least two trays must contain Letter/A4-sized media. A control panel message will prompt you to load trays with the correct media sizes. Remedy: Load one tray with Letter/A4 and one tray with Letter-R/A4-R media. All trays are loaded with Letter/A4 paper, but no trays are loaded with Letter-R/A4-R paper.

What happens if a Rotate Offset job is suspended by Job Interrupt? Copy interrupt jobs are copy jobs that need to be output immediately, even when an existing job is already running. The existing job is suspended at the nearest copy boundary before starting the processing of the copy interrupt job. Once this is done, the interrupted job resumes. If a Rotate Offset job is being processed and a copy interrupt job begins, the Rotate Offset job is interrupted at the end of the nearest copy.
