NOTE: Installing the Device Manager 7.1.1-01 installs Tiered Storage Manager 7.1.1-01
automatically. Installing the Tiered Storage Manager 7.1.1-01 Service Pack requires installing the
Device Manager 7.1.1-01 Service Pack separately. You can install these Service Packs in any order.

Enhancements
• The maximum capacity of a P9500 THP/Smart Tiers Software pool has been extended to 5 PB
in Device Manager.
• When P9500 THP/Smart Tiers pools are shrunk, the first pool volume can now be deleted in
Device Manager.
• The following improvements have been made to the Smart Tiers Software pool management
function in Device Manager:
◦ Monitoring schedule has been improved so that relocation can be performed independently
from monitoring.
◦ For tier policies, Tier 2, Tier 1/2, and Tier 2/3 can now be selected.
