Connecting a D6000 in a dual-domain environment
to two servers
This example illustrates cabling in a dual-domain environment, with each D6000 storage drawer being
accessed by a different server. In this example, one 2-port controller is installed in each server.
Note the following:
• Two cables from the D6000 storage drawer to the server provide dual-domain connectivity:
o One cable connects to the D6000 primary I/O module, SAS port 1.
o One cable connects to the D6000 secondary I/O module, SAS port 1.
o For consistency across all D6000 deployments, even though SAS port 1 and SAS port 2 are
functionally equivalent, HP recommends using only I/O module SAS port 1 in direct-connect
environments.
• Cables from each D6000 storage drawer are connected to two different servers.
