Connecting a D6000 in a dual domain environment
to one server
This example illustrates cabling in a dual-domain environment, with both D6000 storage drawers being
accessed by the same server. In this example, a 4-port controller is installed in the server.
Note the following:
• Two cables from the D6000 storage drawer to the server provide dual-domain connectivity:
o One cable connects to the D6000 primary I/O module, SAS port 1.
o One cable connects to the D6000 secondary I/O module, SAS port 1.
o For consistency across all D6000 deployments, even though SAS port 1 and SAS port 2 are
functionally equivalent, HP recommends using only I/O module SAS port 1 in direct-connect
environments.
• Cables from the two D6000 storage drawers are connected to the same server.
