Cabling overview
The D6000 is designed to support a variety of host environment deployments, with the SAS cabling from the
D6000 being very similar, regardless of host environment.
For information about supported servers and controllers, see the D6000 QuickSpecs on the HP website
(http://www.hp.com/go/d6000/quickspecs).
Cabling guidelines
Observe the following guidelines:
The only supported cable is the 2.00 m (6.56 ft) mini-SAS cable. (8x wide mini-SAS cables are not
supported in direct connect environments.)
Mini-SAS cables do not ship with the D6000.
Hosts must be powered down before connecting SAS cables to the D6000.
The D6000 has two storage drawers, with each drawer being an independent unit. A separate
connection is needed for each drawer.
Cascading I/O modules from D6000 drawers is not supported.
