Overview

Use these installation instructions to install the optional

HP SN8000B Inter-Chassis Link (ICL) optical cable (64

Gb QSFP) to connect up to four SN8000B Director

chassis running Fabric OS 7.0.0 or nine SN8000B

Director chassis if you are running Fabric OS 7.0.1.

These instructions provide basic setup instructions. For

From the Manuals site, under storage, select Storage

Networking, and then select your switch.

An ICL license must be installed on all Brocade

Backbones forming the ICL connection. Beginning with

Fabric OS 7.0.1, up to nine neighboring SN8000B

series chassis can be connected with the QSFP optical

cables. Under Fabric OS 7.0.0, four chassis can be

connected.

ICL licenses

An ICL license is required to use ICL ports. You must

install an ICL license on each interconnected Director

switch before you connect the ICL cables. See

Table 1 (page 2) to determine the required licenses.
