Identification of switches with FMS mode enabled

To configure FICON emulation features, you must have the following on all switches at either end of
the tunnel:
Fabric OS v6.0 or later
FICON XRC license (for FICON XRC Emulation feature)
FICON tape license (for FICON Tape Read and FICON Tape Write Emulation features)
For instructions on configuring the FICON Emulation features, refer to “Configuring an FCIP tunnel
on page 291. For more detailed information on the FICON Emulation features, refer to the
“Configuring and Monitoring FCIP Services” chapter in the Fabric OS Administrator’s Guide.
Identification of switches with FMS mode enabled
To monitor a FICON CUP environment in Fabric Manager, FMS mode must be enabled on the FICON
director.
You can enable FMS mode using Web Tools or the command line interface (CLI). See the Web Tools
Administrator’s Guide for information on enabling FMS mode with Web Tools. See the Fabric OS
Command Reference for information about the ficoncupset command.
The following procedure describes how to identify which switches have FMS mode enabled.
Identifying switches with FMS mode enabled
1. Select a switch from the View panel.
2. Click the Overview tab in the Information panel.
3. Scroll or use the Search function to locate “FMS Mode” in the Property column.
The FMS Mode property displays true if FMS mode is enabled, false if FMS mode is not
enabled, and Not supported for switches that do not support FMS mode.
Current port connectivity configuration
This section describes how to view and edit the current port connectivity configuration. The view
and edit functions are:
Block a port
Prohibit a port
