Conditional tests
These tests are for the random number generators and are executed to verify the randomness of the
random number generator. The conditional tests are executed each time prior to using the random number
provided by the random number generator.
The results of all self-tests, for both power-up and conditional, are recorded in the system log or are output
to the local console. This includes logging both passing and failing results.
To enter into single-user mode:
1. Reboot the switch or Active CP and press ESC within four seconds after the following message
appears:
Press escape within 4 seconds to enter boot interface.
On dual CP systems, reboot both active and standby to boot prompt, and execute the following steps
on the standby CP as well.
2. Optional: If applicable, enter the Boot PROM password.
3. Enter 3 to select
Enter command shell.
4. From the command prompt, enter the command appropriate for your switch or director:
HP StorageWorks 4/8 or 4/16 SAN and 4/32 switches, and the 4/256 SAN Director:
boot MEM()0xF0000000 -s
On the HP StorageWorks DC Director:
setenv OSLoadOptions single boot
On the 400 MP Router platform:
boot ATA()0xb689f –s
