Port data collection and alerts
8
Port statistic data collection is not supported on switches running Fabric OS 2.x and earlier.
Table 12 displays the information that is captured and the color-coded icons displayed in the
graphs when you configure the port data to be collected:
Enabling port data collection
1. In the SAN View, select the fabric for which you want to collect port data.
2. Select Tasks > Performance Monitoring > Configure Port Data Collection and Alerts.
3. Ensure that the correct fabric is selected, as shown in Figure 74.
The fabric name appears at the top of the panel, and the fabric is highlighted in the directory
tree to the left. If necessary, select the appropriate fabric.
4. Check Enable port data collection for the selected fabric.
5. To use the default SAN alert levels, make sure that the Use Default SAN configuration is
checked and click OK.
If no default alerts have been set, you are prompted to do so. Setting alert configuration is
described in “Notification parameter configuration” on page 106. To set alert threshold
overrides, move to the lower section of the screen.
6. Set the threshold value for each individual alert and error counter.
A SAN-level alert is generated whenever the value crosses the set threshold level. Alerts can be
set to info, critical and warning severity levels.
Setting different thresholds for the selected fabric
1. On the lower portion of the screen, click Override the SAN alert thresholds for selected fabric.
2. For each port attribute you want to override, type the desired threshold into the text area in the
Threshold column.
3. Set the alert level at Critical, Warning, or Info.
