End-to-end monitoring

NOTE
The retrieval of port statistics and end-to-end monitoring of data can take longer than expected if
you issue any CPU-intensive commands (such as the portTest diagnostic command) while
performance monitoring is enabled.
Enabling end-to-end performance monitoring
1. Log in to the seed switch of the fabric you want to monitor.
2. Select Tasks > Performance Monitoring > Configure End-to-End Monitoring.
The Performance Monitoring Configuration dialog box displays.
3. Select On.
4. Click Save.
5. Click OK on the confirmation popup.
6. You may receive a warning message that not all devices have performance monitor licenses.
Click OK.
7. Select View Set Monitors to see the devices that are being monitored.
The End-to-End View Set Monitors dialog box displays (see Figure 75). This table lists all the
device pairs (initiators and targets) that are being monitored. This list is useful if there is a
resource limitation or license issue and all possible conversations are not being monitored.
The monitors that could not be set are listed within the Not Set Monitors tab.

8. Click Close to return to the Performance Monitoring Configuration dialog box.
9. Select Refresh Monitors to reestablish the End-to-End monitor set at any time.
This option is useful when you do not want to wait for the monitor set to be updated (for
example, after zoning changes have been made).
