After you have selected your local switch, click Next.
5. Optionally, select the remote switch. In most cases, the remote switch will be in a different
fabric than the local switch, unless you are creating a redundant tunnel.
6. Click Next to continue.
Selected switches are shown in the appropriate area of the window.
7. Configure the IP Interfaces for both switches, or for the local switch if a remote switch was not
specified, as shown in Figure 190.
NOTE
Fabric Manager supports the IPv4 and IPv6 address formats when configuring FCIP tunnels.
However, you cannot mix formats; all addresses should be entered in the same format.
In the list for the Existing field, the IP interfaces displayed are the interfaces already
configured for the selected GigE port. If you select one of these, the Existing option is
automatically selected and the IP address, subnet mask, and MTU are prefilled. If you type
a new IP address in the field, New is automatically selected and any prefilled information is
cleared.
If you are configuring both ends of the tunnel, add the MTU to the local IP interface or
select from an existing entry and the MTU field for the remote IP interface shows Same as
Peer. MTU rates must match on both ends of the tunnel. The reverse is true if you
configure the other end of the tunnel first. If you do not know which MTU to use, click
Suggest. You cannot select Suggest if entries already exist. See “How MTU Suggest works
on page 298 for details about how Suggest works.
For the local and remote IP interfaces, enter the gateway IP address into the Gateway field,
or choose an existing one from the list. If you type a new IP address, the New option is
automatically selected. If you choose from the list of existing gateways, Existing is
selected.
