FIGURE 194 IKE Policies
These policies are used to make the connection more secure through authentication and
encryption. If the IPSec policy is selected, you must specify the preshared key. The Preshared
Key is the key to be used during IKE/IPSec authentication. It must be between 12 and 32
alphanumeric characters. It must also be an exact match on both switches.
FICON Emulation features are available only when all of the switches on both ends are
running Fabric OS v6.0.0 or later and only for VE to VE tunnels. In addition, the following
licenses are required for these features:
FICON XRC Emulation requires the FICON XRC license. If switches are local and
remote, all switches on both ends need the license installed for the feature to be
enabled.
FICON Tape Read Emulation requires the FICON Tape license.
FICON Tape Write Emulation requires the FICON Tape license.
For more information on the FICON Emulation concepts and features, refer to the
“Configuring and Monitoring FCIP Services” chapter in the Fabric OS Administrator’s
Guide.
Enable Compression can be set to improve throughput through compression.
NOTE
Ports that are set to persistently disabled at the beginning of the process are not set to
persistently enabled after the tunnel is configured successfully. Use the
portCfgPersistentEnable CLI command to set the port to Persistently Enabled. Refer to the
Fabric OS Command Reference for details about the command.
