Fabric Manager Client displays data that is not synchronized, it could be due to some stale
cached data on the Client or Server failing to fetch the latest information from the SAN.
If the Table view is not updating:
In some instances, even though the Fabric Manager Server updates the data, the Fabric
Manager Client may not. So before trying the following steps wait about six minutes after
the change has occurred on the fabric. This could help the Server to collect the latest data
and the Client to update with the data.
If the data is not updated, select Actions > Refresh in the Table view.
If the data is still not updated, try switching between tabs within the Table view to update
the stale data with latest information.
If the Topology view is not updating, switch to another view and switch back.
In both the above cases, clicking Refresh in the Topology view should get the latest information
from Server and update the Client view.
If the Table and Topology views are still not updating, click Discovery > Refresh Status
Information for the SAN.
If the at this point the data still has not refreshed, restart the Fabric Manager Client.
If the data still has not updated after restarting the Fabric Manager Client, restart the Fabric
Manager Server using SMC as follows:
1. Select Start > Programs > Fabric Manager > Server Management Console to launch
the SMC application.
2. Inside the SMC application, the Services tab is selected by default. Click Restart
Services.
3. After all of the services are restarted close SMC and restart the Client.
supportShow and supportSave output
If a switch is not operating as expected, you can capture diagnostic data for the switch using a
Fabric Manager wizard. The Capture Technical Support Information wizard captures the
supportSave or supportShow command output and saves it. You can either use the output files to
do your own troubleshooting, or you can send the files to your technical support contact for
analysis.
The supportShow output is saved as a text file, which is then bundled into a .zip file. For multiple
switches, multiple text files bundled into .zip files are created, one for each switch. The
supportSave output is saved in individual files, one for each type of data.
The output files are saved on the FTP server. The wizard displays the name and location of the file.
If you are using the built-in FTP server, the output files are saved in the following directory:
<installdir>\server\server\fmserver\ftproot\technicalsupport
The FTP server must be configured before you can capture the supportShow and supportSave
information. If the FTP server is not configured, the wizard prompts you to configure it.
Fabric Manager can capture supportSave information only for switches running Fabric OS v5.2.0 or
later. If you try to capture supportSave information for a switch running a firmware version earlier
than Fabric OS v5.2.0, then Fabric Manager captures supportShow information instead.
