Services not starting after upgrade
After upgrading Fabric Manager, if the services do not start after the host is restarted it could be a
problem with the installation program, Install Anywhere.
During the upgrade process, Install Anywhere marks some files for deletion. If these files cannot be
deleted during an upgrade, they are deleted after the host is restarted. In this case, some services
may be stopped and the application will not function properly.
It is not possible to predict which files could be causing the problem. Since the files are randomly
marked for deletion, workarounds at the installer phase will not be effective. You can resolve this
issue by completing the following the steps:
1. Open Windows services and stop the services. Fabric Manager services include:
Fabric Manager FTP Server
Fabric Manager PM Server
Fabric Manager SAN Connector Service
Fabric Manager Server
2. Repeat the upgrade installation process.
Uninstallation of an upgraded Fabric Manager installation hangs
In rare cases, it is possible that installers and uninstallers are running simultaneously. On some
system configurations, this can corrupt the global registry created by the Zero G installer.
To correct this, rename the global registry and then perform an uninstall/reinstall.
On Windows systems, the global registry is located in the hidden directory C:\Program
Files\Zero G Registry\.com.zerog.registry.xm
l
On UNIX systems, when you are logged in as root, the global registry is located in the \var
directory. If you are logged in as a user, it is in the user account's home directory.
