1. First recommendations: • See the Media type functionality & features and choose the most appropriate media. • It is essential that you have the media type correctly calibrated with the printer and print mode, consult the Calibrate my printer document. • In order to get a correct display, it’s also essential to have the monitor calibrated, consult the Profile my monitor section. • o • Output tab: Select Default Printer ICC. • Click OK. Advanced... button: • • • Rendering Intents tab: Select Perceptual for images, Saturation for graphics, Relative Colorimetric for proofing, Absolute Colorimetric for proofing (paper white emulation) or the Poster Color for CMYK images (mix of Saturation and Absolute Colorimetric). Output tab: • Output: Select Color. • Rotate: Select the rotation option you need.
o • Modify more specific options in Setup button. Click OK. QuarkXpress 6.5: 4. Configure the color Preferences, Edit menu > Preferences… > Quark CMS (left hand menu): • Check the Color Management Active checkbox. • Destination Profiles: • • • o Monitor: Select your monitor profile (see the recommendations in section 1) or select one of the list. o Composite Output: None. o Separation Output: None.
• Click OK. 5. Open your project, File menu > Open... , and browse it. To insert images, draw a box with the Rectangle Picture Box and insert the image, File menu > Get Picture...: • Browse to the file. • Color Management tab: • o Profile: If the image has an Embedded profile, preserve it, if not select Default. o Rendering Intent: Profile Default. o Check Color Manage to RGB/CMYK Destinations. Click Open. 6.
o Paper size: Select Custom and set the dimensions to match the document dimensions. o Orientation: Select the orientation which matches the image on the paper. • Output tab > Print Colors: As Is. • Preview tab: Check the preview of your image on the paper. • Profiles tab: Check that both profiles are set to None. 8. Printer settings, Properties...
• Click OK and Print. 9. Return to the RIP and check the preview, you can modify the job settings in the Change... window or in the Preflight. Print the job if the preview is correct.
