Use of Gloss Enhancer

As you probably know, the hp designjet Z3100 comes with a “transparent” ink that is being

used to unify the glossiness of the papers in all areas. This ink is called HP Gloss Enhancer and

can be activated from the driver.

In the driver and once you select a glossy or semi-gloss paper, and you access the “Custom

Options”, you will have access to the Gloss Enhancer menu. In there, you have 3 options:

• • • Off: Do not apply Gloss Enahncer Whole Page (default): Gloss enhancer is used all around the page Economode: We turn gloss enhancer off in areas that are pure white (ie RGB=255,255,255). This way you keep the reflectiveness of the substrate coating of the media used. If the color is not pure white (ie RGB=254,254,254) gloss enhancer will be applied.
