1. First recommendations: • In order to get a correct display, it’s also essential you have the monitor calibrated, refer to the Profile my monitor document. • Refer to the Media type functionality & features and choose the most appropriate media. • Ensure that the Paper Type setting on the front panel corresponds to the paper that you intend to use. It is essential that the paper is correctly color calibrated for the printer; refer to the Calibrate my printer document.
4. Configure the Color Management options, Edit menu > Preferences…: • Working Spaces > RGB: Select the profile of the scanner or camera you have used to get your file (source profile), if you don’t have it, select Adobe RGB (1998). • Working Spaces > CMYK: Select Europe ISO Coated FOGRA27 (for Europe), U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 (for US) and Japan Standard v2 (for Japan). • Check Use black point compensation check box. • Click OK. 5. Open the document, File menu > Open…. 6.
7. Check the print layout and the overall output before printing; Select Adobe Acrobat print settings; File menu > Print…: • Printer > Name: Select the printer (ex. HP Designjet Z6100ps 42in Photo).
• Advanced button: o Output > Color: Select Composite. o Output > Printer Profile: Select Printer/PostScript Color Management. o Check Apply Working Color Spaces check box. o Click OK.
8. Driver print settings, Properties button: • Paper/Quality tab: o Paper Options: • Document size: Select the media size that is loaded on the printer. Make sure that the document size is not bigger than the paper size you have in the printer. • Orientation: Select the orientation of the paper. • Print Quality: Select Standard Options and drag the slider to Quality (Best).
• • Color tab > Color Options: o Select Print in color. o Select Color Management > Printer managed colors: • Default RGB Source Profile: Select sRGB (HP). • Default CMYK Source Profile: Select Europe ISO Coated FOGRA27 (for Europe), U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 (for US) and Japan Standard v2 (for Japan). • Rendering Intent: Relative Colorimetric. Click OK. 9.
10. Print the fist copy of your job, Adobe Acrobat File menu > Print…: • Printer > Name: Select the printer (ex. HP Designjet Z6100ps 42in Photo). • Select the same application settings you choose in step 7. • Select the number of Copies you need. • Click Properties button; choose the same printer settings you selected in step 8. • Click OK twice. 11. Check the first print copy in terms of quality. • If the first copy is not OK, modify the appropriate settings and repeat step 9.
