The DL100 G2 ProLiant Data Protection Storage Ser vers are set up at the factory with lo gical drives for
the operating system and user data. No additional storage congu ration is needed.

ing on the model, each storage ser ver com es with either two or four internal Serial Advanced
Technology At tachment (SATA) hard disk drives (HDDs). The sections below describe how these internal
HDDs are congured for each storage ser ver based on whether t wo or four HD D s a re installed.
Two-HDD congurations
The t wo H DDs used with the 3 TB and 6 TB D ata Protection Storage Servers are congured for software
RAID fault tolerance using the motherboard SATA controllers.
The HD Ds for the DL100 G2 are hot-pluggable, but not hot-swappable. The drives can be removed or
inserted while the power is on, but user intervention is neede d to rebuild the arrays.
