DL100 G2 four-HDD configurations
The four H DDs included with the storage servers are con figured for hardware RAID fault tolerance
using Adaptec RAID controllers.
NOTE:
In Adaptec Storage Manager (ASM), logical disks are labeled 1, 2, and so on. In Microsoft Disk
Manager, logical disks are displayed as 0, 1, and so on. For ASM configuration information,

With the DL100 G2 Da ta Protection Storage Servers, the OS volume is a hardware RAID 5 logical disk
across all four ph ysical drives (see Figure 10). The DON’T ERASE volume is a hardware RAID 5 logical
disk and contains an image that is deployed onto the OS drive during system installation. The data
volume, available for use by the DP M software, is also configured as a hardware RAID 5 logical disk
across all four drives. This ensures redundancy in the event of a drive failure.
