third-party kernel modules.
• Debug kernels for more advanced diagnostic purposes.
For each operating system, HP Scalable NAS provides a kernels RPM,
pmxs-<os>-kernels-3.7.0-<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm, that includes the binary,
source and debug kernels for that operating system. This guide describes how to
install the kernel RPM and the binary and source RPMs.
For RHEL5, the following binary and source kernel RPMs are provided:
• kernel-HPPS-2.6.18-92.el5.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm (the binary
kernel)
• kernel-2.6.18-92.el5.370.<xxxx>.src.rpm (the architecture-independent
source kernel)
• kernel-HPPS—devel–2.6.18-92.el5.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm (archi-
tecture- and configuration-specific development kernel)
For SLES10, the following binary and source kernel RPMs are provided:
• kernel-HPPS-2.6.16.60-0.21.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm (the binary
kernel)
• kernel-source-2.6.16.60-0.21.370.<xxxx>.src.rpm (the architecture-
independent source kernel)
• kernel-source-2.6.16.60-0.21.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm (the archi-
tecture-specific source kernel)
The HP Scalable NAS kernels RPM also includes debug kernels that can be installed
under the direction of HP Support. For RHEL5, the debug kernels are:
• kernel-HPPS_debug-2.6.18-92.el5.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm
• kernel-debuginfo-common-2.6.18-92.el5.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm
For SLES10, the debug kernels are:
• kernel-HPPS_debug-2.6.16.60-0.21.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm
• kernel-HPPS_kdump-2.6.16.60-0.21.370.<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm
