3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software upgrade guide HP Scalable NAS for Linux (AG513-96005, October 2009)

C Transition to Linux Device Mapper
MPIO
The following information describes how to transition to Linux Device Mapper MPIO
if you are currently using either the QLogic failover feature or the Matrix Server/HP
Clustered File System mxmpio software for multipath support. Transition procedures
from other third-party MPIO solutions are not currently available.
NOTE:
This procedure does not apply to HP 4400 Scalable NAS systems or HP X5500
Storage Gateway for Linux systems. The 3.7.0 Quick Restore installs the operating
system RPMs and the HP Device Mapper Multipath Enablement Kit and adds the
necessary entries to the HP Scalable NAS fc_pcitable file.
There are two parts to the transition to Linux Device Mapper MPIO:
Install the Linux Device Mapper MPIO tools provided with the operating system.
Configure Linux Device Mapper MPIO.
Install Linux Device Mapper MPIO tools
Install the following Linux Device Mapper MPIO RPMs on each server. The RPMs are
provided with your OS distribution.
