3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software upgrade guide HP Scalable NAS for Linux (AG513-96005, October 2009)

Other considerations
You will need to install a new license file during the upgrade. If the new file is
not in place when you start HP Scalable NAS, license violations will be reported
on the Management Console and in the cluster log, and the product will shut
down after one hour and 45 minutes.
If a server is temporarily out of the cluster during the upgrade (for example, for
maintenance), you will need to upgrade it to 3.7.0 before returning it to the
cluster.
You do not need to run mxconfig when upgrading to 3.7.0. If you want to
change any of the parameters that you originally specified with mxconfig, first
upgrade all servers to 3.7.0. After the upgrade is complete, stop HP Scalable
NAS File Serving Software on all servers in the cluster (use /etc/init.d/pmxs
stop), and then rerun mxconfig.
Operating system considerations
The following considerations apply to the operating system upgrade:
The current operating system architecture can be either 32-bit or 64-bit. If you
are using MxDB-Oracle-HiAv, be sure to choose the upgrade procedure corres-
ponding to your current OS.
Sites currently running SLES9 can move to either SLES10 or RHEL5.
Sites currently running RHEL4 can move only to RHEL5. Moving to SLES10 is not
supported.
Location of HP Scalable NAS programs and files
In previous releases, Matrix Server programs and files were located in the following
directories:
/opt/polyserve
/var/opt/polyserve
/etc/opt/polyserve
These directories are now symbolic links to the following locations:
/opt/hpcfs
/var/opt/hpcfs
/etc/opt/hpcfs
