Matrix Server/HP Clustered File System configuration
The Matrix Server configuration is stored in the /var/opt/polyserve and /etc/
opt/polyserve directories. On HP Clustered File System, the configuration is
stored in the /var/opt/hpcfs and /etc/opt/hpcfs directories. You will need
to create separate tar files for these directories using tar -cf to preserve the
permissions on the files. Be sure to copy the tar files to a secure location such as
another server.
MxFS-Linux/FS Option for Linux configuration
The MxFS-Linux/FS Option for Linux configuration is stored in an online database.
To back up the information in the database, you will need to save the Export Group

$ mx exportgroup dump
In addition to reporting the export group configuration, this command creates a file

for the export groups and are named
dump_<exportgroupname>_<time_in_milliseconds>. You will need to save
these files to a secure location.
NLM state
You should also save the state of the Network Lock Manager (NLM), which will be
either enabled or disabled. Run the following command to determine the state. For
Matrix Server:
/opt/polyserve/bin/mxnlmconfig -q
For HP Clustered File System:
/opt/hpcfs/bin/mxnlmconfig -q
This command returns a sentence stating whether NLM locking is enabled or disabled.
Be sure to save this information.
