3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software upgrade guide HP Scalable NAS for Linux (AG513-96005, October 2009)

Recreate notifiers
If you previously used notifier scripts, you will need to recreate the notifiers. HP
Scalable NAS File Serving Software 3.7.0 provides three event notifier services:
SNMP Notifier Service. This service sends SNMP notifications, or traps, to the
configured SNMP targets when the selected events occur.
Email Notifier Service. This service sends email to specified addresses when the
selected events occur.
Script Notifier Service. This service allows you to specify a script that will be
triggered when selected events occur. This method works in the same way as the
notifiers provided with previous Matrix Server releases; however, you can specify
only one notifier script.
For information about configuring the notifier services, see Configure notifiers and
view events in the HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software administration guide.
Implement new 3.7.0 features
The HP Scalable NAS 3.7.0 release includes several new features that you might
want to implement at your site. See the HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software
administration guide for more information about using these features.
Replication. This feature can be used to set up automatic replication of the data
in your PSFS filesystems. The replicated data is transferred at regular intervals
from the source cluster to another cluster.
IMPORTANT:
Replication has performance implications for the cluster. Before implementing
replication, be sure to review the section Replication tuning in Chapter
14,Configure and manage replication, of the
HP Scalable NAS File Serving
Software administration guide
.
Performance Dashboard. The Performance Dashboard provides server and cluster
performance data over a period of time (the last hour, day, week, month, or
year). Filesystem data is provided for individual PSFS filesystems and can be
aggregated for all PSFS filesystems.
