3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software upgrade guide HP Scalable NAS for Linux (AG513-96005, October 2009)

For RHEL5, the default OS installation configures firewall rules that prevent the
correct operation of HP Scalable NAS. HP recommends that you either select the
No firewall rules option, or select Custom and then ensure that the service
ports required by HP Scalable NAS are open. See the HP Scalable NAS File
Serving Software administration guide for more information about these ports.
For SLES10, if you will be installing a firewall, ensure that the service ports re-
quired by HP Scalable NAS are open. See the HP Scalable NAS File Serving
Software administration guide for more information about these ports.
Additional required OS packages
For RHEL5, HP Scalable NAS requires that the following packages be installed. Most
of these packages are included in the default server installation.
lm_sensors-2.10.0-3.1.x86_64.rpm
net-snmp-5.3.1-24.el5.x86_64.rpm
samba-3.0.28-0.el5.8.x86_64.rpm
NOTE:
Samba releases later than 3.0.32 are not supported with HP Scalable NAS.
ecryptfs-utils-44 (or greater)
libnl-1.0-18.4.x86_64.rpm
For SLES10 systems, no additional packages need to be installed.
2. Build the kernel (optional)
NOTE:
If you will be using an HP Scalable NAS binary kernel, you can install it later as
specified in your upgrade procedure.
If you need to build the kernel from source, first install the HP Scalable NAS kernels
RPM corresponding to your OS. This RPM contains the HP Scalable NAS binary,
source, and debug kernels.
