Chapter 13: Configure Event Notifiers and View Events 152
After the Microsoft SNMP service is installed, you will need to specify a
community string. The public community string is adequate, as the string
is used only for read-only operations. To add a community string,
complete the following steps.
1. Open the Control Panel and select Administrative Tools.
2. Double-click Services. On the Services window, locate the SNMP
Service, right-click, and select Properties.
3. Open the Security tab and add the community name.
The Microsoft SNMP service is enabled by default and will automatically
use the HP Clustered File System extension agent.
HP Clustered File System also provides two MIBs that can be loaded into
the MIB browser tool provided with your Network Management Station
(NMS). The MIBs are named mxsnmp.mib and mxtrap.mib and are located
in the following directory:
Cluster Event Viewer
The Cluster Event Viewer shows the messages in the cluster log for a
particular server. To open the Viewer, select a server on the Management
Console, right-click, and select View Events.
