This document describes how to remove and replace LTO
tape drives.

CAUTION: Parts can be damaged by
electrostatic discharge. Keep parts in their
containers until needed. Make sure that you are
properly grounded when touching static sensitive
components.
Inspect the contents of the kit
Note that tape drive replacement kits do not include
the cable. You may need a screwdriver to remove and
replace this tape drive.
Go to the instructions for your library
configuration
This tape module kit can be used to add an LTO4 or
later tape drive to a library or replace an existing
LTO2 or later tape drive.
Special steps are needed when adding the first LTO4
or later tape drive to a library that only contains LTO2
or LTO3 tape drives and when replacing an LTO2 or
LTO3 tape drive with a LTO4 or later tape drive.
To install this LTO4 or later tape drive, go to the section
of this guide containing the appropriate procedure:
