1 Unpack the library

WARNING!

The library weighs between 160 kg (350 lb) and 303 kg (665

lb) depending on its configuration. At least two people should

move and install the library.

2 Attach the ramp to the pallet

CAUTION:

Parts can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Keep parts

in their containers until needed. Ensure that you are properly

grounded when touching static-sensitive components.

. 3 Remove the hold-down brackets Pull down the yellow gear lock that is inside the library on the right side of the robotics unit to disengage it from the reduction gear. The gear lock remains attached to the robotics unit. 4 Move the library to the location where you want to install it NOTE: If you cannot reach the yellow gear lock, remove the arrays from the top, right wall inside the library. Press the release lever on the array and lift the array out of the slot on the wall. 3.

10 Plug in the power cable If you have more than one power distribution unit (PDU), plug each PDU power cable into a different AC power circuit to establish redundancy. 11 Cabling checklist 7 LTO3 tape drives only If your library contains LTO3 tape drives and a second host is available, plug an FC cable (not included) into the FC1 port on the interface controller and plug the other end into the HBA port on the host or into an FC switch that is connected to the host. Attach labels to each end of the cable.

12 Attach the bar code labels to the tape cartridges CAUTION: Handle tape cartridges with care. Do not drop or mishandle them, or place them near sources of electromagnetic interference. Rough handling can damage the tape cartridge making it unusable and potentially hazardous to the tape drives. CAUTION: 1. Library robotics controller 2. e2400–FC 2Gb interface controller 3. IMPORTANT: The robot cannot access tape cartridges in the bottom one or two rows of the bottom module in the library. If the bottom module is a tape drive expansion module or capacity expansion module, do not insert tape cartridges into the bottom row. If the bottom module is a base module or card cage expansion module, do not insert tape cartridges into the bottom two rows.

• Configuration > Library Configuration > Change Password 16 Configure the interface controller The library ships with a null password. Passwords must be set to exactly eight characters consisting of the numbers 0 through 9 and the period character. If this is the first time the library has been powered on after delivery, or if a new interface controller was installed, configure the interface controller so that it is recognized by the Interface Manager card.
