NOTE:
If you require integration with HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) or HP Operations Manager,
then you should install the HP Remote Support Pack (RSP), not Insight RS. The RSP solution enhances
HP SIM with intelligent event diagnosis and the automatic submission of hardware event notifications
securely to HP Support, including acknowledgement and status returns.
Remote Support Pack contains event monitoring and proactive service support, including assessments
and analysis for nearly all HP servers, storage, networks and SAN environments plus selected Dell
and IBM Windows servers that have a support obligation with HP, including proactive service contracts.
The HP contract and warranty entitlement feature of HP SIM requires this plug-in to be installed. More

Upgrading HP Replication Solutions Manager (optional)
Estimated time to complete: 10–20 minutes
When to perform: Any time prior to the upgrade
If you are running HP Command View EVA 5.x, 6.x, or later, you do not need to perform this task.
If HP Replication Solutions Manager is installed, you must upgrade it to version 2.1 or later. HP
Replication Solutions Manager is an optional interface for HP Business Copy EVA and HP Continuous
Access EVA.

HP Replication Solutions Manager 2.1 or later requires JRE 1.5.0_04 and later. If you need to upgrade
the JRE, use the JREserver included with HP Replication Solutions Manager 2.1. See the HP

Monitoring storage system stability
Estimated time to complete: 25–30 minutes
When to perform: 48 hours before beginning the upgrade
The storage system configuration should be stable for 48 hours before beginning the upgrade. Check
the status of the array to ensure it is stable and then continue monitoring status until the upgrade
begins.
1. Open HP Command View EVA and click the icon of the storage system you want to upgrade.
