Microsoft SQL Server 2005 performed well und er the heavy load and during the firmware upgrade. In
Figure 16 and Figure 17, the transactions per second are compared against the average disk latency per
read and write, respectively. While the disk latencies spiked during the firmware upgrade, the number
of transactions per second did not drop to zero. While this does represent a significant performance
impact, the application reported no errors of any kind during the firmware upgrade.
