Intended audience

This guide is intended for personnel involved in planning or performing a ﬁrmware upgrade on an

EVA3000/5000 or an EVA4000/6000/8000. To perform an online upgrade, you should have

experience in the following a reas:

• Evaluating the storage system conﬁguration to determine its impact on how lo ng the storage

system will be unavailable during the online upgrade process.

• Using HP Command View EVAPerf to m onitor and record storage system I/O load.

• Identifying operating system and application time out values for all h osts accessing the storage

system. And changing the time out values if necessar y to support the o nline upgrade.
