Avoiding problem situations
The following sections describe problems tha t m ay arise and their solutions.
QLogic failove
r preference
If you are usin
g the built-in failover functionality of the QLogic driver, set the failover preference to
Path A Failove
r or Path B Failover in the M anagement Appliance. Failure to do so ca n cause I/O
errors when a f
ailover occurs.
Forcing a probe-luns command
If a Red Hat EL 3 U6 platform does not detect all LUNs, you can force a probe with the probe-luns
command at system boot. Enter the following command to install the p robe-luns startup code:
#cd /opt/hp/hp_fibreutils/pbl
#.pbl_inst.sh –i
NOTE:
Do not run probe-luns at system b oot if your server detects all LUNs.
To remove the probe-luns startup co de, enter the following comm and:
#cd /opt/hp/hp_fibreutils/pbl
#.pbl_inst.sh –u
Codeload usage
When a maximally congured system is running at full load, codeload functionality is not effective
because the system may time out before codeload is complete. HP recommends that you always perform
VCS upgrades at an off-peak time.
