Version: XCS 6.110 Description The XCS 6.110 system software for the EVA4x00/6x00/8x00 provides improved functionality to support the EVA4100/6100/8100. System software 6.110 supersedes and replaces 6.100. XCS 6.110 can be installed on any EVA4000/6000/8000 or EVA4100/6100/8100 storage solution. Customers currently running 6.100 on an EVA4000/6000/8000 do not need to upgrade to XCS 6.110 as the only functional difference between 6.100 and 6.110 is added support for the EVA4100/6100/8100. XCS 6.

• LUN shrink operations―This enhancement ensures that your host operating system can handle changes in volume size before you change the underlying virtual disk size. Changing the size on some operating systems can cause instability or data loss. • Local replication―Added support for mirrorclones of virtual disks that are DR group members and restoration of these mirrorclones. This support is only available on arrays running controller software 6.1xx.

There are two possible workarounds for this problem: • The issue and recommended workaround are described in the following Microsoft support article entitled Shared disks are missing or are marked as "Failed" when you create a server cluster in Windows Server 2003 (ID 886807), which can be downloaded from the following website: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;886807 • You can bypass this issue by setting the load balancing policy for each LUN to NLB using the MPIO DSM CLI.
Powering off storage system components Individual EVA storage array components should not be powered off during normal operation. Before powering off any storage system component, contact your HP-authorized service representative for assistance.
See the HP MPIO Full-Featured DSM for EVA Disk Arrays release notes for more information. The release notes are included in the download file. Documentation updates Updated information for the hardware component CSR support table in chapter 5 of the HP StorageWorks 4x00/6x00/8x00 Enterprise Virtual Array user guide was not available before the user guide was finalized.
