Version: XCS 6.200 Description The XCS 6.200 system software provides improved functionality to support the EVA4000/6000/8000 and EVA4100/6100/8100. System software 6.200 supersedes 6.110. XCS 6.200 can be installed on any EVA4000/6000/8000 or EVA4100/6100/8100 storage system. XCS 6.110 is the minimum required version for the EVA4100/6100/8100. To determine if you can upgrade to XCS 6.
Upgrade path to XCS 6.2001 Current XCS version Upgrade type2 6.000 Upgrade directly to 6.200 Online or offline 5.110 Upgrade to 6.110 then to 6.200 Online or offline 5.100 Upgrade to 6.110 then to 6.200 Online or offline 5.0xx Contact HP Services for upgrade information if you are running these versions. 1 Customer self upgrade is supported from XCS 5.1xx to 6.110 or later. To determine if your configuration supports customer self upgrade from XCS 5.1xx to 6.
IMPORTANT: If you are using a “-B” controller, you cannot downgrade to any version earlier than XCS 6.110. The HSV200-B and HSV210-B controllers require a minimum version of XCS 6.110. Adding drive enclosures or expansion racks Adding drive enclosures or expansion racks to an EVA must be performed by HP-authorized service personnel. Adding an expansion rack must be completed while the array is offline. Contact HP Services at http://www.hp.com/support for more information. Enhancements XCS 6.
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.7 Fixes The following issues have been resolved in XCS 6.200: • Addressed an instance of a controller reset when an adapter was added to the host definition table. • The time is now synchronized between a replacement controller and the existing controller. • Modified a management command to avoid a hang condition. • After replacing the I/O module, the I/O module hardware type is now accurately reflected. • Duplicate host port handles no longer occur.

must reset the asynchronous mode for these DR groups, using HP Command View EVA or an equivalent command, to return to normal operations. HP recommends that you ensure the DR groups are not in a full copy state before upgrading to XCS 6.200. Changing the host port topology Before changing the topology settings of an array host port, physically disconnect the host port from its existing connection, change the topology setting, and then reconnect the host port.
This workaround applies to all supported Windows operating systems and all supported QLogic and Emulex HBAs. See the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array compatibility reference for support details. Windows 2003 MSCS cluster installation The MSCS cluster installation wizard on Windows 2003 may fail to find the shared quorum device and disk resources may not be auto-created by the cluster setup wizard. This is a known Windows Cluster Setup issue that has existed since Windows 2003 was released.
Changing storage system cable connections on a C-series switch If it becomes necessary to move the storage system Fibre Channel cable to a different port on a C-series switch, or to a port on a different C-series switch, the corresponding controller host port will become unavailable. If this situation occurs, it will be necessary to restart the controller to restore host post operation. This can be done from HP Command View EVA as follows: 1.
• Default log size will be 132 MB even though a size of 1.9 Tb is displayed • To have an asynchronous data replication with arrays with VCS 3.110, first the DR Group creation must be in synchronous mode and wait for normalization to complete and then the replication mode needs to be changed to asynchronous mode. • Redundancy (Vraid) level for the destination member should be same as the source for XCS 6.200 and VCS 3.
