Replacement Instructions is provided under the terms and conditions

of the Hewlett-Packard Company Limited Warranty for that

If this is a trade sale part (product out of warranty), then the replacement

part(s) referred to in these Replacement Instructions is provided under

HP's express limited warranty statement, which may be viewed at:

The replacement part takes on either the Limited Warranty Period of the

part being replaced or a ninety-day period that begins upon installation

of the replacement part, whichever is greater.

The only warranty for this replacement product is as noted above.

Before

you begin

Observ

e the following precautions when replacing the OCP:

• Removi

ng the OCP signiﬁcantly changes the air ﬂow within the

enclosure. The OCP must be installed for the enclosure to cool

properly. If the OCP fails, leave it in pla ce in the enclosure until a

new OCP is available to install.

• Parts can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Use proper

anti-static protection.

• UsecarewhenreplacingtheOCPtoavoiddamagingtheenclosure.

Removing the OCP

1. Remove the front panel (1, Figure 1) by g rasping the panel at each

end pulling it off the enclosure.

2. Press the OCP latch (2) and swing the panel out until it is fully open.

CAUTION:

Handle the OCP by its metal frame only. This will ensur e that the

electronic components are not damaged by static discharge.

3. Grasp the OCP by its metal frame and pull it out of the enclosure

(3).

3 1 0142b Figure 1 Removing the OCP Installing the OCP 1. Slide the new OCP into the enclosure (1, Figure 2). 2. Close the OCP until the latch engages. 3. Install the front panel, pressing it firmly into place. NOTE: After installing the OCP, the controller may have to upgrade the OCP firmware. Do not remove the OCP while this operation is in progress. When the OCP is displaying the alternating Storage System Name and WWID, the correct firmware has been loaded on the OCP.
