Once it is updated through itutil a reboot or a power cycle of the slot is required to reflect the
new firmware version.
• The infiniband driver supports automatic recovery during PCI Error Injection but auto recovery
is not always successful.
Example: In the Scenario, if there are some IPOIB consumers which are still using the card
resources during PCI Error injection, then auto recovery fails. The following error message
appears on the console:

In this scenario the driver can be successfully resumed by resetting the IPOIB module with the
itutil command. The syntax is:
itutil -R interface_name
For example: itutil –R ib0
