Known problems and limitations
This section provides a list of known problems and limitations as known to HP at time of publication.
If workarounds are available, they are included.
Unsolicited and unsupported ELS request from a known target can cause driver to lose its
connection to that target
In certain SAN configurations, if an unsolicited and unsupported ELS request comes in from
a known target, the driver will lose its connection to that target and the disks will show up as
NO_HW in the ioscan output. See QXCR1001145460 for more details. Running the fcmsutil
command with the reset option will restore the connection. A new release of the driver, version
B.11.31.1109.01, will be available in August 2011 to fix this issue. HP strongly recommends
this version of the driver be installed.
Commands to targets formerly visible through HBA may be delayed
If a zoning change or other fabric perturbation causes an fclp HBA port to permanently lose
name server visibility to ALL ports in the fabric, while still maintaining a successful fabric login,
commands to the targets formerly visible through this HBA may be delayed. This issue will be
resolved in the September 2011 (AR1109) release.
A voltage degradation alert message is shown in the System Events Logs upon system boot
up
This is only an alert message for the 456972-B21 HBA. Functionality and performance on
the Mezzanine card are not adversely affected. No actions are needed. This message can
only be found through the SL command under the MP menu.
EFI is only bootable from the first boot entry device
This applies to the first boot entry device that is connected to an AD221, AD222A, AD393A,
AD299A, or AD355A.
Corrective action: The workaround for this issue is to re-arrange the boot list that is connected
to the adapters:
