HP A5158A Fibre Channel Adapter Release Notes

Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements

The following are software and hardware requirements for the A5158A Tachyon TL adapter.

For general installation procedures on installing the A5158A software and adapter, refer to

the Hewlett-Packard Fibre Channel Mass Storage Adapters Manual, P/N A3636-90002,

edition date E1201.

For instructions on installing the adapter on your speciﬁc system, please refer to your

system’s documentation.

NOTE The HP A3740A Fibre Channel PCI Tachyon adapter is NOT supported on

HP-UX 11i. Before you install HP-UX 11i, please replace any A3740A PCI

adapters in your system with HP A5158A PCI Tachyon TL adapters. Then

connect any Fibre Channel Mass Storage devices previously connected to

A3740A adapters to A5158A adapters.

Software Requirements

• HP-UX 11.00, 11i or later Operating System

• A5158A software driver for this release (available on the AR1201 Application CD and on

the web at http://software.hp.com).

• Tachyon patch PHKL_23939 or later (only for HP-UX 11.00)

• Tachyon patch PHKL_23626 or later (only for HP-UX 11i)

• These patches are required. They are available to download from the ITRC and on the

December 2001 Support Plus CD.

• Recommended: Support Plus Media Kit (December 2001) for your particular version.

This kit contains the Quality Pack bundle, the Hardware Enablement bundle, and the

Support Tools bundle containing the diagnostics (STM, EMS, ODE).
