1 HP CommonIO Overview
The CommonIO bundle packages multiple products, and is always installed. The following sections
describe each CommonIO component.
1.1 FC-COMMON
FC-COMMON is delivered in the CommonIO bundle. FC-COMMON contains the FC-SNIA file
set. FC-SNIA contains the Common SNIA HBA Application Programming Interface (API) library,
which provides a consistent interface to access HBA information in a Fibre Channel Storage Area
Network. This standard C-language API is being implemented across vendors and is supported by
vendor-specific library instances.
1.2 SAS-COMMON
SAS-COMMON is delivered in the CommonIO bundle. SAS-COMMON contains the sasmgr(1M)
utility, which you can use to manage all SAS Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) on HP-UX. Currently,
sasmgr(1M) manages SAS HBAs controlled by SerialSCSI-00.
