Parameters
minor minor-value: Specifies a minor alarm threshold in the range of 0 to 4294967295. This threshold
must be equal to or less than the total memory size. Setting this threshold to 0 disables the a minor alarm
function.
severe severe-value: Specifies a severe alarm threshold in the range of 0 to 4294967295. This threshold
must be equal to or less than the minor alarm threshold. Setting this threshold to 0 disables the severe
alarm function.
critical critical-value: Specifies a critical alarm threshold in the range of 0 to 4294967295. This threshold
must be equal to or less than the severe alarm threshold. Setting this threshold to 0 disables the critical
alarm function.
normal normal-value: Specifies a normal level threshold in the range of 0 to 4294967295. This threshold
must be equal to or greater than the minor alarm threshold.
slot slot-number: Specifies a card by its slot number. Without this option, the command sets memory
usage thresholds for the active MPU. (In standalone mode.)
chassis chassis-number slot slot-number: Specifies a card on an IRF member device. Without this option,
the command sets memory usage thresholds for the global active MPU. (In IRF mode.)
Usage guidelines
For correct operation and higher memory utilization, the system monitors the amount of free memory
space in real time. When a threshold is exceeded, the system generates an alarm notification or
alarm-removed notification and sends it to affected service modules or processes so they can take
responsive actions.
For more information about the rules for generating alarm notifications and alarm cancellation
notifications, see Fundamentals Configuration Guide.
