Field Description
Total (pkts) Total number of packets received or sent through the interface.
Broadcast (pkts) Total number of broadcast packets received or sent through the interface.
Multicast (pkts) Total number of multicast packets received or sent through the interface.
Err (pkts) Total number of error packets received or sent through the interface.
Overflow: More than 14
digits (7 digits for column
"Err")
The command displays Overflow if any of the following cases applies:
• The data length of an Err field value is greater than 7 decimal digits.
• The data length of a non-Err field value is greater than 14 decimal digits.

Use display counters rate to display traffic rate statistics of interfaces in up state over the last statistics
polling interval.
Syntax
display counters rate { inbound | outbound } interface [ interface-type [ interface-number ] ]

Parameters
inbound: Displays inbound traffic rate statistics.
outbound: Displays outbound traffic rate statistics.
interface-type: Specifies an interface type.
interface-number: Specifies an interface number.
Usage guidelines
If no interface type is specified, the command displays traffic rate statistics for all up interfaces that have
traffic counters over the last statistics polling interval.
If an interface type is specified but no interface number is specified, the command displays traffic rate
statistics for all up interfaces of the specified type over the last statistics polling interval.
If an interface type and an interface number are specified, the command displays traffic rate statistics for
the specified interface over the last statistics polling interval. If the specified interface is always down over
the last statistics polling interval, the system prompts that the interface does not support the command.
You can use the flow-interval command to set the statistics polling interval.
