By default, log file overwrite
protection is disabled.
If the all-port-powerdown keyword
is specified in this command, the
device shuts down all its physical
Ethernet ports except for the
console port, the management
Ethernet port, and ports that have
been bound to an IRF port when
the capacity of the log file reaches
the upper limit or the storage
device runs out of space. To restore
the device to the normal state, back
up the log file, delete the original
file to release space on the flash,
and then bring up the interfaces.
This feature is available only in
FIPS mode. For more information
about FIPS, see Security
Configuration Guide.
6. (Optional.) Specify the
directory to save the log file.
info-center logfile switch-directory
dir-name
By default, the log file is saved in
the directory flash:/logfile.
The configuration made by this
command cannot survive a reboot
or an active/standby switchover.
(In standalone mode.)
The configuration made by this
command cannot survive an IRF
reboot or a global active/standby
switchover in an IRF fabric. (In IRF
mode.)
7. Save the logs in the log file
buffer to the log file.
Method 1: Configure the
interval to perform the save
operation:
info-center logfile frequency
freq-sec
Method 2: Manually save the
logs in the log file buffer to the
log file:
logfile save
Use either method.
By default, the system saves logs to
the log file every 86400 seconds.
The logfile save command is
available in any view.
Enabling synchronous information output
The output of system logs interrupts ongoing configuration operations. You have to find the previously
input commands before the logs. Synchronous information output can show the previous input after log
output and a command prompt in command editing mode, or a [Y/N] string in interaction mode so you
can continue your operation from where you were stopped.
