Layer 2 Configuration

Command Syntax and Usage
vlan <VLAN number>
Enter VLAN configuration mode.
Command mode: Global configuration
To view command options, see page 276.
[no] spanning-tree pvst-compatibility
Enables or disables VLAN tagging of spanning tree BPDUs. The default setting is enabled.
Command mode: Global configuration
[no] spanning-tree uplinkfast
Enables or disables Fast Uplink Convergence, which provides rapid Spanning Tree
convergence to an upstream switch during failover.
Note: When enabled, this feature increases bridge priorities to 65535 for all STGs (except the
management STG) and path cost by 3000 for all external STP ports.
Command mode: Global configuration
spanning-tree uplinkfast max-update-rate <10-200>
Configures the station update rate. The default value is 40.
Command mode: Global configuration
[no] spanning-tree bpdu-guard
Enables or disables BPDU guard, to avoid spanning-tree loops on ports with Port Fast
Forwarding enabled.
Command mode: Global configuration
show layer2
Displays current Layer 2 parameters.
