RSTP/MSTP/PVRST Configuration
BLADE OS supports the IEEE 802.1w Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) and IEEE 802.1s
Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), and Per VLAN Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (PVRST).
MSTP allows you to map many VLANs to a small number of Spanning Tree Groups (STGs), each
with its own topology.
Up to 32 Spanning Tree Groups can be configured in MSTP mode. MSTP is turned off by default.
Note – When Multiple Spanning Tree is turned on, VLAN 4095 is moved from STG 128 to the
Common Internal Spanning Tree (CIST). When Multiple Spanning Tree is turned off, VLAN 4095
is moved back to STG 128.
