Show Recent Syslog Messages

The following command displays system log messages:

show logging messages

Command mode:

All

Each syslog message has a criticality level associated with it, included in text form as a prefix to the

log message. One of eight different prefixes is used, depending on the condition that the

administrator is being notified of, as shown below.

 EMERG Indicates the system is unusable

 ALERT Indicates action should be taken immediately

 CRIT Indicates critical conditions

 ERR Indicates error conditions or errored operations

 WARNING Indicates warning conditions

 NOTICE Indicates a normal but significant condition

 INFO Indicates an information message

 DEBUG Indicates a debug-level message
