Configuring EMS HA-ATM for Remote
Recovery (Using MC/ServiceGuard)
A summary of the steps for configuring EMS HA-ATM for remote
recovery (using MC/ServiceGuard) is as follows:
Step 1. Ensure that the following things have already been done:
✓ EMS HA-ATM for local recovery has been configured (see
“Configuring EMS HA-ATM for Local Recovery” on page 112).
Remember that, if you have no secondary LAN interfaces (and so you
are not using local recovery) but you still want to use EMS HA-ATM
to monitor the primary interface, you must have done the
appropriate local recovery configuration (see the “Note” before the
steps under “Configuring EMS HA-ATM for ELAN Interfaces” on
page 118).
✓ The MC/ServiceGuard software has been installed on all cluster
systems running the ATM software. You must use MC/ServiceGuard
version A.10.10 or later for HP-UX 10.20, MC/ServiceGuard version
A.11.01 or later for HP-UX 11i, and M/C Service guard version
A.11.15 or later for HP-UX 11i v2.
✓ The systems in the cluster have been connected via a LAN link as
well as the ATM links.
Step 2. Specify the ELAN interface resource as a package resource dependency.
Step 3. Verify the remote recovery configuration.
Steps 2 and 3 are described in the following sections.
Specifying the ELAN Interface Resource as a Package
Resource Dependency
You can specify the ELAN interface resource as a package resource
dependency in either of these ways:
• Manually edit the MC/ServiceGuard package configuration file
(/etc/cmcluster/
package_name
/
package_config_file
).
• Use SAM to configure the package resource dependencies.
