Modifying ATM Parameters when Using EMS
HA-ATM
CAUTION While the hatmmon daemon is running, do not use SAM or any of the
ATM configuration commands to change the configuration for an ATM
adapter that has any ELAN interfaces being monitored by EMS
HA-ATM.
If you need to modify the configuration of an ATM adapter that is
involved in EMS HA-ATM, always follow these steps:
Step 1. Unconfigure EMS HA-ATM:
a. If you want to change the adapter’s card parameters, you must
unconfigure EMS HA-ATM for all of the primary ELAN interfaces on
the adapter.
b. If you want to change the configuration for an ELAN interface, you
must unconfigure EMS HA-ATM for only that interface.
See “Unconfiguring EMS HA-ATM” on page 139 for the steps to
unconfigure EMS HA-ATM.
Step 2. Modify the ATM adapter’s configuration as required.
Step 3. Configure EMS HA-ATM for the ELAN interfaces (see “Configuring EMS
HA-ATM for ELAN Interfaces” on page 118).
Step 4. For local recovery, restart the daemon as described in “Starting the
Monitor for the ELAN Interface Resource” on page 124.
For remote recovery, stop the node by using this MC/ServiceGuard
command:
cmhaltnode node_name
and then restart the node, with this command:
cmrunnode node_name
